Davenport man charged in Alpha Pharmacy break-ins following police chase

One man is in custody and believed to be responsible for multiple break-ins at the Alwood Pharmacy in Alpha following a chase with law enforcement on the Fourth of July.

31-year-old Roman T. Lloyd of Davenport, Iowa, was arrested early Wednesday on charges of burglary, theft and aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude police. Lloyd was also a suspect named in the Alwood Pharmacy burglary that WGIL previously reported on May 14th.

According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to an alarm call at the pharmacy.

Deputies found the business had been burglarized. Henry County Investigators responded and were able to obtain vehicle and suspect information.

A short time later, Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies on patrol spotted the suspect vehicle on Interstate 74 near Woodhull.

The suspect ignored attempts to stop the vehicle and fled from Deputies. The pursuit led law enforcement onto Interstate 80, across the Mississippi River and into LeClaire, Iowa.

There Lloyd allegedly fled on foot before being apprehended.

Assisting Henry County deputies were Colona Police Department, Illinois State Police, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the LeClaire Police Department.
