County Board to consider conditional use permit for Henn House BBQ

A conditional use permit that would allow Phil Hennenfent, owner of Henn House Barbecue Catering and Food Truck Business, to operate out of a facility on his own land will be considered at Wednesday night’s Knox County Board meeting.

According to board documents, Hennenfent appeared before the county’s Zoning Board of Appeals on June 6th to get the permit under home occupation.

He requested to utilize 480 square feet of a new pole building to be used as a kitchen to store and prepare food for the catering-food truck business.

The board could also approve the disbursement of grant money from the 708 Board of Mental Health.

The 708 Board was established after a referendum passed during the consolidated election in April of 2017.

WGIL has previously reported that the mental health board approved over $400,000 in grant applications to several entities including DD Homes, KCCDD, Rainbow Riders, and Camp Blue Sky.

The board will also consider the approval of a bill to Klingner and Associates for engineering work on the renovation to the I.T. department’s room at the Knox County Courthouse.

The board could also approve the re-appointment of Melvin D. Rash to the Spoon Valley Lake Sanitary District, and Paul Clark to the Knoxville Fire Protection District.

The County Board meets at 6:00 p.m. at the Galesburg City Council Chambers.
