An Illinois Department of Corrections convict appeared in Knox County Circuit Court Wednesday for new sexual assault charges.
31-year-old Aaron W. Landon is facing two counts of Class X felony of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.
He has been in custody with IDOC – convicted in 2015 of Class 1 sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. He is serving a 9-year prison sentence.
Landon appeared in court with Judge James Standard where he waived his preliminary hearing, pleaded not guilty, and demanded a jury trial.
Assistant State’s Attorney Andrew Stuckart believed that in this new case the victim was different from the previous case where a conviction was secured, but it happened at around the same time.
A pre-trial conference was scheduled for August 6th.
