The District 205 School Board on Sunday afternoon approved Michael Washabaugh as the new GHS Head Football Coach.Washabaugh is graduate of Knoxville High School and Monmouth College and has served as an assistant under outgoing Coach Tim Dougherty.
In fact Washabaugh was one of four assistants that were a part of the GHS program for the duration of Doughtery’s 7-year tenure, along with Marty Turner, Jay Barshinger and Derek Blackwell.
The 205 Board met in a meeting just prior to Galesburg High School graduation to make the hire official.
Washabaugh is also currently a health and P.E. teacher at GHS.
