OSF named Best Illinois based employer by Forbes

A recent survey of employees who work for companies with more than 1,000 employees ranks OSF HealthCare as a better place to work than Apple, Johnson and Johnson or Tesla.

OSF was ranked 46th on Forbes list of the 500 best large employers to work at in the United States. OSF, based out of Peoria was the highest ranked of Illinois employers.

How Forbes made the list was by partnering with market research company Statista, which surveyed 30,000 Americans working for companies with at least 1,000 employees.

The surveys were anonymous and asked on a scale of 1 to 10 who likely they would be to recommend their employer on a scale of 1 to 10.

CEO Bob Sehring says the recognition is “confirmation of all the hard work” of OSF’s supervisors, VPs, directors, managers to ensure that employees, or as they call them “mission partners” are connected to the organizations mission.

OSF facilities are spread out through Illinois and Michigan with 13 hospitals including St. Francis in Peoria, St. Mary in Galesburg, St. Luke in Kewanee and St. Elizabeth in Ottawa.

Other downstate Illinois companies included in the list were State Farm based in Bloomington and Deere and Company in Moline. In case you’re wondering, topping the list of favorite employers in the U.S. are Michelin, Trader Joe’s and Google.
