Former Wal-Mart development branded Galesburg Crossings, four retailers opening in summer/fall

What has been widely reported in local media as the redevelopment of the former Wal-Mart building near Henderson Street in Galesburg now has an official name.The development is being referred to as Galesburg Crossings which will house stores like Marshall’s, PetSmart, Harbor Freight Tools and Five Below, all of which have signed long-term leases according to the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development.

The property is owned by Tramlaw Galesburg, LLC and have been assistedin the process by Kairos Investment Partners.

Tramlaw is based in Illinois while Kairos is based in Park City, Utah but has Land of Lincoln roots.

Jay Woldenberg, Tramlaw’s General Partner says the four tenants entering the Galesburg market should “greatly enhance the retail strength along the Henderson corridor” already anchored by Hy-Vee.

KCAP says that all four of the retailers are planning grand openings for summer or fall of this year.

Galesburg Alderman will vote Monday night on a vacating a small portion of right away in front of the development so Galesburg Crossings can put a sign that’s visible to Henderson Street traffic.
