More vendors and a new location for WIBA Home Show

A long-standing event is being held this weekend – and if you’re wondering if it’s being held later than usual this year – you’re right. Typically held in March, the Western Illinois Builders Association Home Show returns Saturday (April 28th) and Sunday (April 29th) for its 41st year. This year, the Home Show has moved from the Sandburg Mall and is being held at the Galesburg Knights of Columbus Hall. The event will feature vendors both indoors and outdoors this year. Organizer and Executive Officer for the Western Illinois Builders Association, Kaylee Johnson, says Saturday’s event will feature twice the amount of vendors. “It’s a great opportunity to meet people, get a chance to ask them questions, see new products, maybe get special deals, help figure out what you can do to improve your home,” Johnson said. “There are banker who can help you finance projects for your home. There (will be) insurance people. We’ll have (representatives) from plumbing, heating, and cooling, just all kinds of things available.” Visitors can register to win a door prize or grand prize. Saturday’s grand prize is a Yeti 20-quart Roadie Cooler and Sunday’s grand prize is a Stihl Cordless leaf blower. There will also be children activities like a coloring contest, child ID program, and build-a-home. The KC Hall will have it’s full menu available as well. The event runs Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and Sunday, April 29th from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm.
