Two remain in Great Galesburg Shake

The Top two finalists were named Monday in New York City following the fifth round of the Great Galesburg Shake.

Galesburg High School graduate John Simkins hosted a round of top executives for American Express at the company’s headquarters in the “Big Apple” and Mackenzie Musser and JaCara Kelley came away as the final two competitors in the competition.

The final round is being held Tuesday with the winner being announced at Galesburg High School Wedensday at 5:30 p.m.

The Great Galesburg Shake is an opportunity for students in grades 4-12 to use their manners and conversational skills in a professional environment. In 2015, District 205 adopted the 12 Tools for Triumph to teach students how to give proper handshakes, use eye contact, and present themselves for opportunities today as well as in the future.

120 students participated in the first round of the Shake, which was held April 12th at the Galesburg High School field house.

Galesburg’s Evening News will broadcast live from that announcement Wednesday during the 5pm hour on WGIL, WGIL.com, and WGIL on the TuneIn Radio App.
