Popular, fun-filled fundraisers, shows, and breakfasts this weekend

It may not quite feel like spring yet, but Spring Break in the 70s is this year’s theme to KCCDD’s 13th annual auction. Starting Saturday, April 21st at 5:30 pm, the auction is held at the Galesburg Knight’s of Columbus Hall and costs $25 per ticket. Chief Executive Officer of KCCDD, Mark Rudolph tells WGIL that with the disco-theme this year, you’re bound to see some pretty groovy outfits. “I think that’s one thing people look forward to….our event,” Rudolph said. “We dress up a little bit…come in and have a good time….kind of get into the spirit of things. It’s a generally short event, we’re usually done by 9:30 or 10:00 so you can get home in time for Gunsmoke. We’ve had so many people come back year after year after year….that’s really what makes it work.” The night will feature a dinner, raffle, silent and live auction, and a lucky ticket auction. Auction items this year include: cubs/cardinals and white sox tickets, a 5-night trip for two to Cancun, Mexico, two tickets to the production of Hamilton in Chicago, a trip to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, and more.
