The identity of the individual who was killed when his pick-up truck collided with a train on Tuesday has been identified.26-year old Jacob B. Walter of Bushnell was confirmed as the victim by Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas who says Walter died of blunt force trauma in the collision.
The crash occurred when Walter hit a train at the crossing located at 600 S. Linwood Rd. traveling at what Fire Chief Tom Simkins described as a “high rate of speed”.
The crossing is near Henry C. Hill Correctional Center.
