Two individuals have lost their lives in a car crash in Henderson County.
According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, at approximately 11:37 p.m. Friday a 2018 Kia Optima was traveling south on County Road 700 E – known as Carman Road – when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane. That vehicle struck a 1999 Toyota Camry.
Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Their names have not been released, pending next of kin notifications.
Carman road is about 3/4 of a mile south of U.S. Route 34.
Assisting the ISP was the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County Coroner’s Office, Gladstone Fire Department, Gladstone Ambulance, Gulfport Police Department, Burlington Fire Department and Emergency Management Services, and Illinois Department of Transportation.
