Galesburg Police officers were called out to Day Street this weekend for a residential burglary.
On Friday, officers responded to the 1400 block of Day on Friday around 5:19 p.m. where victims told officers that someone had crawled in through their kitchen window at some point and broken into a safe – stealing prescription medication and jewelry.
According to police reports, officers pinpointed the theft to have occurred sometime between 10:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. that day.
Police reports indicate that the medication taken was Tramadol and Norco, and that the total value of the items taken was $780.
The victims told officers that only they knew the combination to the safe, and that a foot print was found near the window that did not belong to them.
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
