Burger King returned to Galesburg in December 2017 but it appears that the kingdom may be expanding with a second location in Galesburg.This is according to the agenda for the next Galesburg Planning and Zoning Commission meeting in which members can approve several variances in the zoning code for BK.
The proposal is for a Burger King to be located at the southeast corner of E. Main St. and Grand Avenue.
The documents also show that the prospective owner is the same man who owns the Burger King on North Seminary, Maruti Seth.
Seth is based out of Danville, Illinois and owns more than two dozen Burger Kings and other fast food franchises around central Illinois.
The variances being requested are to mount a two-pole sign, allow night deliveries and to have a menu board that is 56 square feet.
The Development Review Committee has already reviewed and approved the variance requests.
