New ownership and more services coming to Action Income Tax.

A Seminary street business is changing hands after 34 years. Action Income Tax has been operating from 4-20 North Seminary Street for over 20 years now. The business, started by Margaret “Peg” Gasow first opened on Grand Avenue in Galesburg in 1983. Gasow, decided to retire and sell the assets of Action Income Tax to CPA Aaron Christopher last month. She told the Register Mail that her business had always been success because of the staff and the people who cared about their clients’ situations. Christopher has been a certified public accountant for 16 years – but has worked in the financial and accounting service industry his entire life. Along the way, he’s gained experience through PricewaterhouseCoopers – one of the largest professional service firms in the world, and the FBI. He told the paper that Gasow’s culture and employees at Action Income Tax fit well with his vision of operating his own business. With Action Income Tax Inc. now Action Income Tax LLC, Christopher plans on expanding the client base, and adding more services to the office – such as business tax preparation. He went on to say that a lot of people who have prepared their taxes on their own, tend to follow the trend of having a “different set of eyes” on their taxes.
