Cedar Creek Hall taking shape at former Galesburg Legion

The Galesburg American Legion has been sold and will soon be open at Cedar Creek Hall. New owners Patty and Bobby Wedell have been looking for a place as a hosting venue for several years – and when the Legion became available, they knew it was what they were looking for.

The couple are excited for their new venture – and they like the option of having a larger hall that will seat around 300 people, and a smaller hall that’ll seat around 150 people.

“It’d be about everything; wedding receptions, business meetings– we’re planning on putting up a couple of overhead projectors on the ceiling and some big screens for presentations. Family reunions, class reunions even small meetings if an organization has a meeting once a month we’ll open the smaller area for that,” they explain.

From receptions, showers, and reunions, to parties, club meetings and funerals Cedar Creek Hall will be open of all.

The Wedell’s daughter, Nicole Sanchez will manage the hall.

Meanwhile, the new owners are redoing the sound system, painting, and prepping for an upcoming open house.

The May 6th open house will feature Hen House BBQ and will be open for those searching for a local venue.
