St. Baldrick’s Foundation will be shaving heads at SideTrax

One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the United States will not survive.

Those who DO survive often suffer long-term effects from treatment.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a leading supporter and funder of children’s cancer research, and one of the organizations signature events will be held tomorrow at SideTrax in Galesburg.

“Galesburg Shaves for Kids” is Saturday starting at noon where supporters wishing to raise money and awareness will shave their heads in support of St. Baldrick’s.

Mark Cratty, who organized the event has been working on getting it to Galesburg for the past several months.

The goal is to raise $10,000 and they hope to have at least fifteen shavees.

Saturday will be the first St. Baldrick’s Foundation event in Galesburg.

The event will be from noon until 6:00pm with head-shaving to begin at 1:00pm.

Donations raised like this support the development of childhood cancer treatments with hopes of children to grow up cancer free.
