Take a class, take a bid, or partake in a good cause this weekend.

The Galesburg Academy of Martial Arts is hosting a Women’s Self Defense class Saturday, March 3rd from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Ladies aged 12 and up can sign up for the class at $30 per person or bring a friend and it’s $25. Master Aaron Duke tells WGIL the class is lead by Christa VanUnnik. “Christa is a great instructor,” Duke said. “She’s passionate about this. It’s completely free of men. I always laugh when I see men teaching women’s self defense. And I’ve done it in the past….until started talking to more women who said that they just weren’t that comfortable. But I’ve seen some wonderful things happen with that women-only training. So I would encourage people to get in touch.” To reserve your spot, contact Christa at 309-351-2846.
