Galesburg man arrested on meth delivery charges

A Galesburg man was arrested over the weekend after officers discovered he had methamphetamine in a bedroom of a residence he was staying in.

On Sunday at around 1:40, Galesburg Police officers were dispatched to 88 Herring Avenue after receiving a tip that a man was wanted on Warren County warrants.

Police were able to make contact with the man, identified as 34-year-old Les P. Whitman. They made contact with him, and he was arrested without incident.

While turning himself over to police Whitman allegedly had inadvertently gave officers cause to look into his bedroom, prompting the discovery of glass pipes with suspected bunt cannabis.

Officers conducted a search, allegedly turning up three digital scales, several glass pipes, baggies with marijuana and suspected methamphetamine, and approximately 150 empty baggies.

The pot and meth were noted to have been found stashed inside of a Monster Energy can. In total 3.4 grams of meth was discovered.

In addition a security system was set up in the house, with cameras feeding a monitor in his room. Because of the security system hooked up in his bedroom, the charges are elevated.

Whitman faces a Class 1 Felony of aggravated methamphetamine delivery.
