One life-flighted in three car crash on I-74

One individual was life-flighted from the scene of a three car crash on Interstate 74 Saturday afternoon.

Illinois State Police, Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire Department, Galesburg Hospitals Ambulance Service, Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the accident.

According to the ISP, a westbound 2000 Ford F-150 left the roadway, crossed through the center median and into the east bound traffic where it struck a 2015 Buick passenger vehicle – which in turn struck a 2010 Honda.

The drivers and passengers in the Buck and Honda were taken for medical attention to Galesburg with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford was air lifted to OSF St. Francis in Peoria due to a life threatening injury.

ISP reported no lane closures relating to the collision.

Names have not been released at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
