Galesburg Harley-Davidson dealer changing owners

Nees Harley Davidson has been bought and with the new owner comes a new name.

George Tragos is president and owner of the new store which will open as “Iron Eagle Harley-Davidson.”

Tragos says no big changes to the physical environment are expected, but they have big things planned for 2018.

They are looking to host a job fair for new employees, beef up marketing with events to attend

Far from a stranger to the Harley brand, Tragos with already owning two other dealerships.

He says he looked at the property about nine months ago and says a change in the “listing” raised his eyebrows.

He says he impressed with the building and went through the financials, figuring out how things could be run better.

Tragos does say that “Iron Eagle Harley-Davidson” will probably not be open seven days a week like Nees is now.

Phil and Mike Nees had owned the dealership since 2006 and built the store on Soangateha Road in 2007.

They’ve been closed since Christmas and will re-open under Tragos’ leadership on Tuesday Jan. 2.
