Christmas music and eating featured for your weekend

Tubas will be making noises of the season as Tuba Christmas at First Lutheran Church on Saturday at 2 p.m.
First time attendees might be surprised at the beautiful sound that a group of these “heavy metal” instruments can make.

Speaking of Christmas music, on Sunday the Ecumenical Singers Christmas Concert is going on partially funded by the Buchanan Center and the Illinois Arts Council.

The ICS Children’s Choir will also be featured.
This presentation is taking place at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.

Kids who want to eat breakfast with Santa can make the trek to Williamsfield on Saturday for all you can eat sausage and pancakes.

Children 12 and under eat for $2.50 with adults for $5.00 although you can get a free child’s tickets with the purchase of two adults.

And then Allen Chapel AME Church is hosting a taco dinner fundraiser.

Alphonso Pugh with the church says this is is the second year for the event to be held but they’re making it bigger for what they hope will start to become an annual tradition.

Pugh says that this fundraiser follows the church creating a fundraising committee this year.

The church is located on 153 East Tompkins with the dinner running from 11 to 3 p.m. tomorrow.

They also have items for delivery with a $10 minimum with tacos available for $1.
