County finance committee discusses funds in the red

The Knox County Finance Committee met in their regular monthly meeting last night where several items were discussed and passed.
Knox County’s Treasurer Robin Davis presented the committee with the May financial report, which included a list of several funds that were running a deficit – not due to overspending, but do to a lack of revenue.

Board member Bob Bondi revealed that the State of Illinois owes the Mary Davis Home $700,000 and the nursing home is owed $600,000 by the state and insurance companies.

The committee discussed and approved a resolution to require contracted workers to provide liability insurance to employees doing work on the county’s behalf.

Also approved last night was the Prevaililng Wage Resolution, and a list of county credit cards for the different departments.
