The Knox County Treasurer’s office wants to be sure citizens are aware that the first installment of real estate taxes are due on Tuesday June 6th.
Treasurer Robin Davis states that payment must be mailed with a postmark of no later than the 6th, or payment must be placed in drop boxes that are located on the Courthouse grounds to avoid a statutory penalty beginning on June 7th.
Most major credit and debit cards can be used but an additional fee will be charged to the taxpayer online at www.epayillinois.com or by phone at 877-690-3729 with the jurisdiction code of 7020 but must be done by the 6th. Cards are also being accepted at office with the same fee applying.
Payments are also being accepted at Knox County banks with exception to Wells Fargo and questions should be directed to the Knox County Collector’s office at 309-945-3811, or 345-3812, or 345-3839.
