Pritchard reflects on 1st term, and plans for 2nd

Galesburg Mayor John Pritchard says his first instinct when he took office was to work on economic development.
After being re-elected he started his second term this month.

He says that Pegasus Manufacturing was contemplating a move early in his last 4 years and were considering a number of places including Galesburg.

Pritchard tells WGIL that the partnership with Pegasus continues to yield positive results.

“And the city recently helped fund an expansion with Pegasus. They’re getting into another line of business, high quality weldments and as a result of being associated with Pegasus we’ve worked on a lot of other projects,” Pritchard says.

According to Pritchard there are more projects with Pegasus are in the works.

He’s spending more times in his duties as mayor than he would’ve anticipated.

Pritchard wasn’t aware when he was running of all the various committees the mayor is committed to being on.
The Mayor says he would welcome a large Maytag-type manufacturer into town, but those types of companies “have really left the borders”.
