There are have been plenty of natural wading pools following storms of recent weeks, but the ones that the city Galesburg actually built for youth to use aren’t yet ready to go.
The city’s parks and recreation department says the wading pools at ON Custer Park, HT Custer Park, and Lincoln Park are still undergoing some repairs and will not open today (Friday) as scheduled.
They say city staff are working diligently to make the necessary repairs, but it’s not yet clear when the pools will actually open.
The city says they will let the public know as soon as they know.
The pools all got upgrades to their chlorine equipment, but as a result, more repairs are needed.
