WIBA all about home improvement at mall this weekend

This weekend is the Western Illinois Builder’s Association Home Show in it’s 40th year.
Traditionally the show has been held at the Sandburg Mall.

Director of the WIBA Board Greg Davis says it will likely be the last year for the show to be at the Sandburg Mall whose demise seems imminent.

There will be 35 vendors with new products and special deals, perfect for getting a start on building projects.

Davis says that HGTV and home improvement shows have educated homeowners on what they want when remodeling.

“They’re showing all kinds of aspects of home buyers and home flippers and everything in it so they’re becoming more educated,” Davis says. “And I think that’s why they should come out and meet these people personally, see what they offer and see if it’s anything they’re personally interested in.”

WIBA’s Executive Officer Kaylee Johnson says the show is a way for WIBA to give back to home owners by helping increase the equity on their homes.

There will be a drawing to give away numerous gifts including a 5,500 watt portable home generator at 2 p.m. Sunday

Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m.
