Growing Pains Dad dead at 69

TV icon Alan Thicke has died. He was 69. Known for his role as Dr Jason Seavers on the ABC sitcom Growing Pains. Thicke was playing hockey with his 13-year old son Carter when he had a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was also known for his songwriting skills, writing numerous game show theme songs including The Joker’s Wild, Celebrity Sweepstakes and the original Wheel of Fortune. He also wrote the theme songs to the TV shows Diff’rent Strokes and The Facts of Life. He also hosted a late night talk show, In the Thicke of the Night, for a short time. He leaves behind three sons and his wife.
