North Carolina man believed to be individual injured in Friday crash

The individual Life Flighted in Friday’s crash on U.S. 150 outside of Knoxville is recovering from injuries sustained in that crash.

Tyler Milam of Creston, North Carolina is believed to be the man injured. His age is unknown, but according to both an obituary and GoFundMe recovery page, Milam was the passenger in the crash that killed 19 year old Sirana Johnston of Knoxville.

Illinois State Police have still not released follow up information from the wreck.

The page says Milam “received serious injuries in a car accident that took the life of his girlfriend,” naming Johnston as that person.

The two were traveling east on U.S. 150 when Johnston’s Chrysler Sebring crashed into a dump truck at the intersection with Illinois 97.

While little is known about Milam, Johnston’s obituary says she was a full time student at Carl Sandburg College and had aspirations to work towards a law degree.

Instead of flowers for her funeral this Saturday, the Milam recovery page says the family is seeking donations for his recovery.
