GPD found a man later identified as 25 year old Erick D. Jones asleep in a truck.

When officers woke Jones, a police report says he was disoriented and was “slurring words.”

Jones was transferred to Cottage Hospital due to a measured heart rate of 160 BPM.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a bag containing a substance that was found to be meth.

Jones was placed under arrest at Cottage and then taken to the Knox County Jail.

Charges against Jones include possession of meth under five grams which is a class 3 felony worth 2 to 5 years in prison in addition to DUI and violation of a stalking no contact order misdemeanors.

The no contact misdemeanor is because Circle K is on a list of persons and location Jones is barred from being with 100 feet of.

Jones is due in court again Wednesday Aug. 17 at 10 a.m.
