Galesburg man arrested on charges of armed robbery, FOID card violation

Police arrested a Galesburg man today after an armed robbery investigation.

Thorne M. Knisley is held in the Knox County jail awaiting a bond hearing. In addition to the armed robbery charge, the 26 year old faces one count of possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card.

According to the Galesburg Police Department, officers responded to an armed robbery report around 10 a.m. today in the 500 block of East Berrien Street. Based on booking records, police were called to Knisley’s address.

At the scene, police took statements, searched the area and located a firearm. Knisley was arrested shortly after investigation began.

There were no reports of shots fired. At this time, there is no indication that Knisley has an attorney. He awaits a court hearing before a judge.
