Police investigate two early morning robberies

Police responded to two reported robberies — one involving firearms — in the early morning hours today.

Police reports show a 16-year-old male told officers he had agreed to purchase a car for cash in the 200 block of South Seminary Street. When he arrived before 1 a.m. at an agreed upon address, two men with their hoods up approached.

They pulled out guns and pressed them against the victim’s head, threatening to shoot if he didn’t give them money. The stick-up crew made off with $1,100.

Around the same time, a man in the 100 block of East Fifth Street also reported being attacked by two men.

One man brought the victim to the ground before striking him several times. The assailants, who were unarmed, stole $300 cash.

Both robberies remain under investigation.
