UPDATE: Police identify three hospitalized after early morning shooting

Police have identified the three people injured in yesterday’s early morning shooting in Galesburg.

According to a Galeburg Police Department news release, a Chicago man identified as 27-year-old Maurice V. Chester-Williams was found suffering from a gunshot wound when officers arrived in the 1000 block of East South Street. Chester-Williams remains in critical condition.

The other two apparent victims, 24-year-old Andrew White III and 22-year-old Eric D. Robinson, both of Galesburg, removed themselves from the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

White remains in critical condition; Robinson is in serious condition.

All three were transported to Galesburg Cottage Hospital yesterday morning after police responded to reports of gun fire. They were later taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment.

Based on Knox County jail booking records, no suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting.
