For the next 15 Wednesdays, Park Plaza is the place to be for lunchtime crowds looking for local food, live music and good vibes.
Cafe in the Park returns at 11 a.m. Wednesday to downtown Galesburg
Galesburg Business Association member Bill Morris, who helps put on Cafe in the Park, tells WGIL the longtime event is something of a Galesburg staple.
“It’s an event that’s gone on for 21 years of good food, good music and wonderful sponsors,” Morris says. “Of course we always give cash away. It should hopefully be a wonderful summer filled with a lot food, fun and great atmosphere.”
At the May 25 showing, Coney Island is set to provide the food and So What? is the performer.
“There really is just a ton of wonderful music to listen to and some great food to eat,” Morris says. “A lot of fellowship again this year.”
Through Aug. 31, local establishments including Q’s Cafe, the Landmark Cafe & Creperie, Pizza House, Chez Willy’s, the Kensington and Big Catz BBQ will be making food.
The Moon Dog Drum Circle, Mike Baum, No Reason, Charlie Hayes and several others are scheduled to perform.
Cafe in the Park runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Wednesday.
