Harriet Tubman will be the new face on the updated $20 bill. The U.S. Treasury Department made the announcement on Wednesday. Tubman escaped slavery to become a conductor on the Underground Railroad, risking her life to lead slaves to freedom. Design changes are coming to the $5 and $10 bill however portraits of Abraham Lincoln and Alexander Hamilton will remain. The updated currency won’t go into circulation until after 2020.
