Bolden placed on administrative leave, Bright Futures position to be evaluated

Principal of Bright Futures Preschool and Director of Curriculum for District 205 Tammie Bolden has been placed on administrative for the rest of the school year while the board is in the process of dismissing her.

Bolden’s hearing before the board was rescheduled for April 28 after a scheduling conflict prevented it from happening on April 11.

Director of Human Resources Jon Bradburn will act in the Bright Futures position for the interim immediate future.

Superintendent Ralph Grimm confirmed this today saying that the appointment is not permanent and the board has not yet evaluated what the scope of the position will entail and who might fill it going forward.

Bradburn tells WGIL that the school needed someone with a Type 75 Administrative Certificate to attend to teachers’ issues for the rest of the school year.

“They need to have a contact person for teachers to go to get guidance and things like that and I’m providing those services on an interim basis,” Bradburn says.

He also says that he’ll be available during to answer teachers’ question during the summer.

Bradburn says he’s impressed with the Bright Futures staff in this time of transition for them.

“It’s a great group of teachers that are stepping up in a situation and continuing to meet the needs of their students,” Bradburn says.

Before taking the Human Resources job last July Bradburn was the Gale Elementary School Principal for three years.
