A Cuba woman attempting to make a curve on IL 95 near Smithsfield has died.
Fulton County Coroner Steve Hines pronounced 18-year-old Megan L. Beaird dead at the scene around 8:30 p.m. yesterday.
Beaird, who was lone occupant in her Jeep, was ejected from her vehicle when it exited the roadway, rolled several times and struck a utility pole on the south side of the roadway.
In a news release, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department says IL 95 was closed for several hours while accident reconstruction took place. An investigation is on-going.
