105.3 KFM congratulates Christa Charlton, an Algebra teacher at Galesburg High School, December’s KFM Teacher of the Month. Christa was nominated by student Heather McGee and this is what Heather had to say about Christa:

What sets this teacher apart from others? Mrs. Charlton is an awesome teacher. She helps all of her students to succeed and she does her absolute best to make sure her students do well. She is personally my favorite teacher because she is there to help when she can and I look up to her. I also want to thank her for helping me and taking time after school to help me with homework if needed. She does the same for her other students as well. Thank you Mrs. Charlton! I love having her as a teacher! She also motivates her students to do their best to succeed now so they can succeed later in life.
What is one thing this teacher does, that may not be part of their job, but they do it anyway to help you or your child? If I need someone to talk to, I know I can talk to her and she will listen and do anything she can to help.

Give an example of a way that this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.: Mrs. Charlton has helped me bring my grades up and she has also motivated me to keep my head up and to do my best because I will be able to succeed if I do that. Because of Mrs. Charlton, she has made me realize that I need to focus on me, my education, and grades instead of focusing on other things that will just get in the way. I just love her so much!

As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Christa receives a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank, a balloon bouquet from Casey’s Party Creations, and the Big Red Apple Award courtesy of Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM Today’s Refreshing Light Rock!
