105.3 KFM congratulates Mrs Cindy Arthur, November’s KFM Teacher of the Month. Cindy was nominated by the principal at Abingdon High School, Chad Fox. And this is what he had to say about her:
I believe Mrs. Cindy Arthur deserves to be the 105.3 KFM Teacher of the Month for several reasons. These reasons include:
1. Teachers say they care for kids, but Mrs. Arthur really makes the time to get to know each student and build personal relationships based on mutual respect. You can see it in her eyes.
2. Mrs. Arthur seeks to understand the needs/interests of students to better reach and teach them, it's not just a job for her.
3. Cindy excels at modeling how important and exciting learning is when they do it together. Students see and feel that she truly cares about education, success and them!
4. Some teachers say they listen to kids, but Cindy actually listens, not hears, to all students AND impacts students by actively engaging them in the learning process. Mrs. Arthur asks for student feedback on her performance & adjusts daily to better serve them. Cindy believes in kids & embodies the change we want to see in the world--she's one of a kind!
As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Cindy wins a $100 gift card from Toys and Teachers, and the Big Red Apple Award courtsey of Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM Today’s refreshing Light Rock!
