105.3 KFM congratulates Jody Collier, November’s KFM Teacher of the Month. Jody was nominated by Cheyanne Dierickx, on of her students at Hedding Grade School in Abingdon. Here's what Cheyanne had to say about Jody:
I am nominating Mrs. Collier because students can tell her anything, and I know she is there to listen to me and the other students. She knows what to say because she has a 5th grade daughter herself. Also, everyone is going through mental and physical changes this year and she is there to help us through all of them.
Mrs. Collier DOES NOT like to give homework because her daughter is always bringing it home to her and she doesn't want us spending so much time on homework, she wants us to spend time with our family. All her students like no homework of course!
Now this year, like I said, we are going through many different changes in fifth grade. For example, some girls are very mean to each other over boys, clothes, body sizes, and other ridiculous things. The boys do it too! Mrs. Collier doesn’t put up with these actions. She listens and helps us all get along. Mrs. Collier makes me feel important and successful at school, so she deserves this award!
As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Jody wins a a balloon bouquet from Casey's Party Creations in Galesburg, a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank, and the Big Red Apple Award courtsey of Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM Today’s refreshing Light Rock!
