TEACHER OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER 2009

TEACHER: Ian Leggin

SUBJECT: Band/Music Theory

SCHOOL: Knoxville High School

NOMINATED BY: Leslie Carman

YEARS TEACHING: 10

105.3 KFM congratulates Mr Ian Leggin, October’s KFM Teacher of the Month. Ian was nominated by Leslie Carman, and this is what she had to say about him:

Mr. Leggin encourages hard work and is not afraid to joke around. He is the first music teacher in Knoxville High School to offer Music Theory which is an excellent advantage for music going to college to study music.  Mr. Leggin is great in getting students involved in honors bands such as IMEA and helping them find what they are looking for in careers. If it wasn’t for him, I would still be lost as to which colleges to consider and about upcoming auditioning preocsses. Mr. Leggin has helped me become more career oriented and helping to reach my goals to get ahead in the field of music.

As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Ian wins a balloon bouqet from Casey's Party Creations, $100 for use in the classroom from Tompkins State Bank, and the Big Red Apple Award courtsey of Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM Today’s Refreshing Light Rock!
