KFM’s February Teacher of the Month is Trinette Olin, a 3rd grade teacher at United Elementary School in Alexis. Mrs Olin was nominated by one of her students, Sheila Bowling, and this is what Sheila had to say about Mrs Olin:
“Mrs Olin is a very nice teacher and she helps us with problems that we don’t know. I needed help with my reading. When we are doing reading, she usually gets us a tape to listen to. This helps me to understand it better. If we don’t understand a particular question in our reading exam, we raise our hands and helps us with a question. A couple of months ago, she had us play games to help us understand our math. The game was “Swat the Number” and you used a flyswatter and you had to hit the correct number. Last week she let us do show and tell with one Christmas present. And if someone wasn’t paying attention, she said “that person was paying attention to you and now you show them respect”.
As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Mrs Olin receives a $100 gift card from Toys and Teachers and the Big Red Apple Award courtesy of Lacky Monuments. Be listening to KFM we’ll soon be taking nominations for Teachers at ROWVA schools so be thinking of a teacher from ROWVA you’d like to nominate.
