I was born July 13th, 1970 in Macomb, Illinois, but was raised in Monmouth and fell in love with radio at an early age. As all radio geeks did, I had a stereo set up in my room with a microphone and would record myself on cassette playing a DJ. I grew up listening to “Spike at the Mic” on the old KIIK 104 and loved watching WKRP in Cincinnati and knew then I wanted to be in radio. When I got into high school, I had a chance to be on the radio when I would report the weather conditions from the school’s weather station. I was hired by the radio station by the time I turned 16, and have been working in radio ever since! As the song goes “town and town up and down the dial” I went from Monmouth to Galesburg to South Lake Tahoe, California back to Galesburg then to Peoria and then finally back to Galesburg. (I guess it’s my love for waiting for trains that keeps me coming back)
Outside of radio I enjoy chasing tornados, watching Lost, and being active with my church. Some of my favorite foods include Pizza, lasagna, and tuna casserole. My favorite sports teams are the Cubs, Bears, and Illini. In 2005 I married my wife Sherry and now have a step-son Cody.
