NAACP Freedom Fund Gala

September 22, 2018 @ 5:30 pm

$40

The Galesburg NAACP’s 2018 Freedom Fund Gala will be held Saturday, September 22 at T. Fleming Fieldhouse, Knox College. The evening will include dinner, a guest speaker, silent auction, dancing and entertainment. Doors open at 5:30, with dinner at 6:30. Tickets are $40 and will only be sold in advance.

“This is a wonderful event,” says the Gala’s chair, Pam Davidson. “The environment is always very exciting. There’s dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and even a specialty drink based on our theme, ‘Black and Gold, with a Hint of Mint.’ Also, our three scholarship award winners will be there. You do not want to miss this year’s Gala.”

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was founded in 1909 and it’s mission is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. DeVone Eurales, President of the Galesburg NAACP explains, “Since our chapter reactivated in 2012, we have been at the forefront of our city’s tough issues and we will continue to challenge and stand against injustice. Our Gala gives us the resources to continue our fight!”
