Here’s what Elizabeth had to say about John:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
My daughter’s biological father is in prison and she doesn’t talk about it to everyone. This teacher really took the time to get to know my child to get her to open up about her dad as well. He also brought it to my attention immediately and promised to keep me updated if situations with her father started to affect her behavior at school.

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
He takes the time to get to know the children. How their home lives are, what kind of activities they are involved in, and he will even come to watch the kids in those activities.

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
He has helped us both so much. He has helped me by letting me know that my child had confided in him when something is bothering her. And I know that he will always keep me informed. He has helped her by being another positive male role model in her life and someone she can trust and talk to. More than just a teacher he’s a great friend to these children. I can only imagine if he has impacted my child this way that he has done so for others as well.

Congratulations John Lowthian, December’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments, Cooks & Company and 105.3 KFM.
