Chicago man facing weapons felonies in Knox Co

A Chicago man is facing felony weapons charges in Knox County.

20-year-old Rory D. Clark Jr. made a video appearance with Judge James G. Baber on Tuesday where bond was set at $100,000.

Clark is facing two counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of felony possession of a firearm with defaced serial numbers, and a misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification Card.

According to a Galesburg Police report, officers were called out to the 1000-block of West Berrien Street for a subject with a gun at around 1:51 Monday afternoon.

A witness told officers that Clark was, “tripping out on some back drugs or he was mentally unstable,” as read in the report. She told police that she got her friends and kids out of the apartment and called police.

A tactical team entered the residence and Clark allegedly ran out the back where he was apprehended.

Two guns were allegedly found at the scene — one on Clark and the other in the apartment. Reports indicate that both guns were reported stolen and both guns had scratched-up serial numbers.

Clark will be back in Knox County Circuit Court on Monday, August 19th, for a preliminary hearing.
