There’s a new bookstore coming to downtown Galesburg. Wordsmith Bookshoppe will be opening at 235 East Main Street – at what was once Ride and Run. Owners John and Teri Parks tell the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development that their store, “caters to book lovers.” They say Wordsmith Bookshoppe is a more traditional indie bookstore that will carry new books across 59 genres and 1,500 magazine titles. The store will also sell literary-themed gifts. According to KCAP, Teri is the former store manager for Book World Inc. in West Burlington which closed in January of last year. Teri said, “We look forward to supporting Galesburg and the surrounding communities through our services, building relationships, cross-business promotions, community involvement projects, and humanitarian efforts.” The store is expected to open in mid-August and will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
