One man was seriously injured after a fight broke out Thursday night.
Galesburg Police say that an 18-year-old man was transported to Cottage Hospital after being run over from a vehicle that appears to have been attempting to flee the fight.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to East Ferris Street and North Broad for a fight in progress.
Officers arrived on scene shortly after and were made aware that the 18-year-old had been run down by a vehicle. A witness told police that an argument at the Railroad Days carnival moved to the armory parking lot, where a fight broke out.
A vehicle reversed out of a parking spot, running over the teen. Then, the vehicle drove forward, running over the teen again. Witnesses described the driver as an African American female.
The 18-year-old was transported to the hospital where officers learned that he had sustained a brain bleed from his injuries. Another man was treated for injuries at Cottage Hospital as well.
The incident remains under investigation.
