Carl Sandburg College offers more summer youth programs.

Carl Sandburg College next month, as part of the summer offerings, will be hosting a camp for computer coding. Stacey Rucker is the Director of the Corporate and Leisure College at Sandburg which includes the community education department at CSC.  “I found out about the Amazon Future Engineer Program and they’ve teamed up with Coding For Kids to bring coding instruction to kids nationwide,” Rucker said. “We were fortunate enough to reach out to them and be able to participate and offer Coding Camp to students that are aged 10 to 13 years old. The camp runs from July 22nd to July 26th from 9:00 am to 11:15 am.” There is no registration fee for the class – but space is limited to 16 students. The class will also not have an instructor – the camp will utilize Skype with an instructor across the country.
Sandburg has also teamed up with Cottage Hospital and OSF in Galesburg to offer the 2nd Annual Scrubs Academy. Held July 17th through the 19th, 11 to 15-year-old students will get a tour of each hospital each day with simulated activities at each. The Scrubs Academy registration is $40 and the deadline to sign up is July 1st. For more information about summer programs at Carl Sandburg College, click here.
