Work starts on road in Fulton County

More roadwork is beginning in the area now that Spring seems to have finally sprung.

The Illinois Department of Transportation says starting Monday, construction will commence on Illinois 100 north of Lewistown and will take about three weeks.

The work, IDOT says, involves repairing a box culvert that has caused the road to dip.

Because of that work being done, Illinois road will be closed between Lewistown and Illinois 78. 78 and US Highway 24 will be used as detours.

Motorists, the state says, need to expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

A map containing all road construction statewide is available at the Getting Around Illinois website.
