Two teenagers were arrested over the weekend in Warren County for car and gun theft charges stemming from Galesburg.
Galesburg police say that a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old took a vehicle that contained a GSG 1911 handgun in the glove box.
The vehicle owner told police that there was a GPS tracker installed, which led them to track it in Warren County.
The report notes that Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle on U.S. 34 near Cameron, and the two teenagers were arrested.
This was one of three guns reported stolen over the weekend, and reports indicate that it was the only one recovered.
